There is a version of the 5 series exporter (requiring all the extra downloads) for 3ds Max 7, however, it seems to corrupt the max scene on exporting. It exports the .x file okay, it's just the max scene afterwards either corrupts or crashes max 7....Not good (must be that god awful Igame v1.12). There is no link to this version but the most intrepid amongst you can find it on this site. Just don't complain if it doesn't work! |

Panda DirectX Exporter has been updated to support 64bit versions. The result of
this means that the plugins now have a depencency on the Microsoft DirectX SDK
(November 2007) Edition. The older legacy DirectX support in previous versions
wasn't carried over into the 64bit world by MS but migrated to the SDK libraries
instead. The way the plugin outputs the .X has had to be reworked, so may
appear different in text mode. This does mean a larger download for the support
libraries but does allow 64 bit support. For those without the VC 2005 runtime
libraries also download/run the vcredist file for your platform if your getting
plugin failure on starting 3ds max. Versions for Max 2008 and Max9 are available in the downloads section. No feature changes have been made, this is just a port. Backup and then remove older versions. |

As an alternative to making sure you can get your max data into an .X file there
is another more modern exporter available: kiloWatt X file Exporter for 3dsMax version 8 - Release 1.1.1, 2006-11-04. Update: Make sure you backup the IGame.dll found in your Max folder as kWatt Exporter installs a later version of IGame which may crash other plug-ins not compiled for a later version. |
